How to reach Kareri – Planning a trek to Kareri Lake
Starting Point for the Kareri Trek is Ghera Village located (N32 15.893 E76 17.094, at an altitude of 1306 meters in Kangra District, Himachal Pradesh, India

Kareri Lake located at N32 19.605 E76 16.445 is the highest point of the trek at an altitude of 2996 meters.

The trek is not very difficult but if you really widh to enjoy the place stay there overnight. Make sure that you book the Government Guest House at lower Dharamshala before you plan your trip

Visit the Baijnath Temple on the way, do not miss one of the most beautiful places which is still unexplored by the tourists. It is BAROT. Enjoy angling and go for Trout Fishing in Barot. There are small hotels on the banks of Uhl river in Barot. However PWD and Forest rest house is a better option to spend your night at Barot. Go trekking through the dense and lush green vegetation to the Bahbus Pass located at an altitude of over 2850 meters. From Manali you can also visit yet another less explored destination NAGAR.

The track is being made by the Nomadic Gaddis who used to travel and cross the stretch for ages. ILAKA and LAM DAL lake are treat to the eyes. Stay inside the natural caves and enjoy the chilled breeze on the way over 5000 meters above sea level. You will reach Bharmaur, the land of royal Gaddis and from there cross down to Chamba Khajia. The breathtaking view of the auspicious Mani Mahesh and Smaller Kailash Peaks on the way to Bharmaur is amazingly beautiful.



Do not miss the Salloni, the Raja's Palace, Bhuri Singh's Museum, temples of Shiva and Vishnu on the way.
